You’re going to discover two simple and FREE ways to let you spy on your competitors’ ads.
Here are two simple ways to spy on what your competitors are doing on their ads and get an idea on what kind of creatives they’re using that might help you decide what you can be doing for your paid acquisition.
Spy Your Competitors’ Ad Using Sensor Tower
Find an app that you want to study. Search for it on Sensor Tower and check Advertising on Adcolony, you will see this on the right side. Click on it and you will see their ad.
In this way, you will get a sense of what they’re doing with their video ads that you might be able to apply on your ad, too. So, just search for an app you are interested in and click into it. Sensor Tower will show you the different ad networks that your competitor is running.
Spy Your Competitors’ Ad Using Facebook App
Search for the app on Facebook and click on it. You will be directed on its app page. Then, look for that “i” icon and click on it. This will redirect you to Page Info. After that, click the tab beside it that reads ”Active Ads.”
From this page, you will see all the active ads that your competitor is running on Facebook. Facebook came up with this after they got into a bunch of trouble with privacy stuff and decided to be open and transparent with all the ads that the advertisers are running on. This is free, so take advantage of it.
Now I run an app marketing agency where we’ve helped 28 clients get featured by Apple, 5X downloads with ASO, and get coverage on Techcrunch, Mashable, Venture Beat and other major publications. I also write about apps on The Next Web, Entrepreneur.com, and on my blog AppMasters.co.
