What’s up! Today, I’ve got a snippet from our upcoming App Masters Virtual Summit which will start this Monday, April 15th. This is a 10-day online-only event where you’ll get to see some of my favorite friends who are independent app developers crushing in the app space.
You will get to watch all these interviews for free on the day it goes live, so register by going to https://appmasters.com/summit.
Without further ado, here’s Sarmad Sultan, App Marketing Specialist, Advanced ASO Strategies for Google Play.
Do Backlinks Work for Google Play ASO?
Every app has a title, subtitle and meta description and backlinks are the most important thing that most miss. Backlinks work for keyword rankings and stability of the keywords.
Backlinks work after almost 10-15 days to a month. Sometimes, however, Google indexes on the day you add backlinks and in that case, you will get higher ranks immediately.
Backlinks Impacting Downloads
Sarmad was able to rank from 34 to 4 after adding backlinks and it affected his downloads positively. Before ranking at the fourth spot, he was only getting 100 to 200 downloads per day. After that, he was getting almost 1,600 to 2,600 downloads daily. That’s not all, getting higher ranking also boost his category rankings.
How to Get Backlinks
It is very important that the link you are getting from the other site to your app URL is relevant and unique. It should not be a spammy link. You can search for reliable sites to get backlinks from them and contact them to put your contextual link or article on their website. In that way, you will get authority from those websites.
Now I run an app marketing agency where we’ve helped 28 clients get featured by Apple, 5X downloads with ASO, and get coverage on Techcrunch, Mashable, Venture Beat and other major publications. I also write about apps on The Next Web, Entrepreneur.com, and on my blog AppMasters.co.
